Why You’re Stronger Than You Think (and How to Prove It to Yourself)
We often think of strength as something reserved for athletes or people who “look” fit. But strength is far more universal — and it's already inside you, waiting to be built on.
Cyan and I are and always have been big believers in starting where you are and getting strength training to meet you there, rather than the other way around. Because when you focus on progress instead of perfection, you discover just how capable your body (and mind) really are.
💬 “I’m not strong enough to start.”
That’s something we hear a lot — and we get it. Starting strength training can feel intimidating, especially if you’ve been away from exercise or never really found a fitness routine that clicked.
But here’s the truth: you don’t need to be whatever your perception of ‘strong’ is to start — you just need to start to get strong.
🚶♀️ Strength is...
Getting up and down from the floor with less effort
Feeling more steady when climbing stairs
Carrying shopping without wincing
Saying, “I did that,” after a workout
Strength doesn’t have to mean lifting the heaviest weights or doing the most reps. It means showing up, consistently. It means finishing a workout you didn’t feel like starting. It means proving to yourself, day by day, that you’re stronger than you thought.
🧠 What building strength really gives you:
✅ Confidence in your body
✅ Better balance and fewer aches
✅ A sense of control over your health
✅ Improved mood and mental clarity (take a look at the last blog post for more on this)
✅ Discipline and evidence to keep going
🔁 Build the evidence
Strength grows when you collect little wins. That’s why our 20-minute workouts are designed to be simple, doable, and repeatable — giving you proof that you can do hard things (even on a busy day).
The more evidence you give yourself, the more your belief grows. And before long, strength won’t just be something you’re working on — it’ll be something you own.
